THE ROYAL SAINT LUCIA POLICE FORCE REMINDS THE PUBLIC THAT SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CAN HAVE CONSEQUENCES.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has concluded an investigation into a series of videos that circulated widely on social media in recent days.

The individual featured in the videos is thirty-six (36)-year-old Clent Devon Richardson, a Saint Lucian national who was deported from the United States in March 2022.

Following an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the videos, he was arrested on Saturday, September 19, 2026 and subsequently charged on Monday, September 21, 2026 under the Computer Misuse Act, with the offence of Malicious Communication.

He was brought before the First District Court on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, where he was granted bail in the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) cash.

As part of his bail conditions, he is not to post anything on social media expressing frustration. He is also required to report to Central Police Station every Tuesday before 6p.m. The matter has been adjourned to November 5, 2026.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force reminds the public that social media content can have consequences. While individuals have the right to express themselves, the use of electronic devices and online platforms must be done responsibly and within the confines of the law.

We therefore encourage members of the public to exercise caution before recording, posting, forwarding, or sharing content, particularly material that may be threatening, menacing, misleading, or intended to cause distress or alarm.
