Mexico Earthquake: OECS Statement of Condolence

THE COMMISSION IS SADDENED TO HEAR OF THE TRAGIC LOSS OF LIFE AND DAMAGE TO PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE.

The Commission of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) conveys deepest regrets to the government and people of Mexico on the tragic loss of life and devastation caused by the Sep. 19 earthquake in Mexico City - the second to strike the country within the past two weeks.

The Commission is saddened to hear of the tragic loss of life and damage to physical infrastructure caused by the earthquake.

The people of the OECS region share the pain and suffering of the bereaved families and all others affected by this catastrophe, and join their governments in extending to the government and people of Mexico deepest condolences in this difficult period. Our prayers and thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this dreadful disaster.
