THE MILLENNIUM HEIGHTS MEDICAL COMPLEX CAN NOW ENHANCE CARDIAC CARE TO PATIENTS FOLLOWING THE DONATION OF CARDIAC EQUIPMENT.
The St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) recently officially handed over an ultrasound cart and pediatric probe to the Millennium Heights Medical Complex which will assist in improving the quality of cardiac care to patients at the hospital.
Acting Chief Executive Officer at the Millennium Heights Medical Complex MHMC Tara George expressed sincere gratitude to LUCELEC for the donation and says this demonstrates their level of support and contribution towards the development of healthcare in Saint Lucia.
“We recognize the role that you play and continue to play in national development through the generosity of your corporate social responsibility programme. Your contribution today as with each one is a powerful demonstration of how you lead your slogan, “The Power of Caring.” At MHMC we welcome the support of corporate Saint Lucia and we would very much like to encourage other businesses to follow your lead and to partner with us in our continuous efforts to improve the services we provide to our nation.”
Strategic Development and Implementation Manager at LUCELEC Roger Joseph says his organisation is committed to providing a helping hand to move Saint Lucia forward and ensure national development.
“We understand very easily what it is for doctors and healthcare givers to be able and in the business of actively saving lives and have to make diagnosis, quick decisions and we understand the importance of having the right tools to be able to do what you do. We are very happy to extend our support to the Millennium Heights Medical Complex once again.”
Consultant Cardiologist at the Millennium Heights Medical Complex Dr. Kurlene Cenac says she is extremely delighted that LUCELEC has pledged its support to improving healthcare and investing in the people of Saint Lucia.
“One of things we always need to do for patients if they are critically ill, if they are in situations where we can’t bring them down to the Radiology unit, we have to bring the machines to them in order to bring the care to the bedside and if we don’t have a machine that can move then that’s basic need that we’ve had over the years and that has not been present for quite a while.
“There was no hesitancy on the part of LUCELEC and Mr. Roger Joseph to extend this help, this assistance to the population, to the people of Saint Lucia and it is really heartwarming. I am bursting with gratitude because I think it is so significant that persons are going to benefit from this move.”
The ultrasound cart and pediatric probe donated by LUCELEC cost over EC$27, 000.
