The Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information hosted a stakeholder consultation on October 3rd, 2025, in order to lay the groundwork for a seamless and prosperous 2025/2026 Cruise Season. The comprehensive session, held at the Marina Haven in Rodney Bay from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, brought together a broad spectrum of essential partners to strategically plan for the upcoming season.

This proactive initiative underscores the Ministry's commitment to fostering a collaborative environment that ensures Saint Lucia remains a premier cruise destination. The meeting served as a critical platform for open dialogue and coordination among all key agencies involved in the island's cruise tourism operations.

Presentations were delivered by crucial stakeholders, each outlining their specific plans and strategies for the upcoming season. These included:   

• Saint Lucia Cruise Ports: Discussing expected arrivals, port operations, passenger services, and infrastructure developments aimed at improving the overall cruise experience.
• Marine Police Unit of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF): Detailing security protocols, maritime safety measures, and emergency response plans to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors and residents.
• Ministry of Tourism: Presenting overarching strategic goals for the cruise season, management initiatives, and efforts to enhance the visitor experience through diverse and authentic offerings with emphasis on safety and security.
•  National Conservation Authority: Highlighting initiatives for beach vendor management and sustainable tourism practices.
• Traffic Unit of the RSLPF: Outlining plans for managing vehicular traffic flow, particularly in high-tourism areas, to ensure efficient transportation for cruise passengers and minimize congestion.
• Soufriere Regional Development Foundation (SRDF): Sharing plans for managing and enhancing attractions and activities in the Soufriere region, a popular destination for cruise visitors.
• Ministry of Health: Presenting updated health protocols, public health measures, and emergency medical response plans to safeguard the health of both visitors and the local population.
• Introduction of the Rangers Unit of the RSLPF and NCA: the revamped and re-established rangers unit. Special constables of the police force with powers of arrest who will be responsible for safeguarding the security and safety of our beaches island wide. 

The discussions that followed  the respective  presentations were highly productive, fostering a shared understanding of each agency's role and objective in the commencement of the cruise season. Stakeholders engaged in collaborative problem-solving, identifying potential challenges and developing integrated solutions to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the upcoming cruise season. Key areas of focus included optimizing port logistics, enhancing security measures, implementing robust environmental protection strategies, maintaining stringent health protocols, and elevating the overall visitor experience.

The collaborative spirit demonstrated throughout the meeting reinforced a unified approach to maximizing the economic and social benefits of the cruise season for Saint Lucia.
