DR. CHERY'S LIFE WAS ONE OF PROFESSIONALISM AND UNWAVERING SERVICE TO THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF SAINT LUCIANS.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs once again extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Dr. Gemma Chery, affectionately known as Gemma or Doc of Bexon, Castries. Dr. Chery passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 1:55 p.m., at the age of 47. Her life was one of compassion, professionalism, and unwavering service to the health and well-being of the people of Saint Lucia.

Funeral arrangements have been finalized and will take place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Bexon. The service is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Loved ones, colleagues, and members of the public are welcome to join in honoring her memory and legacy. The body of Dr. Gemma Chery now lies at Rambally’s Funeral Parlour, Calvary Road, where family and friends may pay their last respects. The Ministry remains grateful for the profound contributions Dr. Chery made to public health in Saint Lucia and continues to keep her loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
