One month away from the official opening of the Caribbean’s premiere music and arts festival, enthusiastic patrons can now access and purchase selected event tickets online.
Festival goers simply need to log on to www.stluciajazz.org to purchase tickets for main stage events beginning with the Jazz Showcase, carded for Thursday, May 7, as well as the popular weekend shows from May 8 - 10 at the historic Pigeon Island National Landmark.
Thursday’s show is billed as a must see for jazz aficionados. It features two-time Grammy nominee Joey DeFranceso, and acclaimed Paris-based pianist Alain Jean-Marie alongside Grant Stewart.
Friday’s show, themed Caribbean night, features lovers rock legend Beres Hammond, Barbadian jam band Krosfyah and local ‘conscience king’ Meshach.
Saturday and Sunday shows at Pigeon Island will feature performances from Flo Rida, Jon Secada, Timbalive, Arturo Tappin, Jimmy Cliff, Derede Williams, Jesse Billy, Chrisette Michelle, Robin Thicke and more.
Tickets cost EC$115.00/US$46.00; EC$130.00/US $52.00; and EC$200.00/US$80.00 respectively. All prices are VAT inclusive.
The Opening of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival at the Mindoo Phillip Park will feature Destra, Chronixx and more. Tickets cost EC$50/US$20 in advance and EC$60/US$24 at the gate. Tickets are available at Steve’s Barber Shop and The Cell in Soufriere.
Tourism Director Louis Lewis said that ticket prices have remained relatively constant, offering festival patrons’ "real value for money.”
Between now and March 31, patrons purchasing online tickets will benefit from a 15 percent reduction in cost. From April 1, a 10 percent discount will be applied to bulk purchases comprising 20 or more tickets.
Meanwhile, ticket sales at stores on-island will be announced at a later date. Outlets will include The Cell in Castries, Baywalk Mall and Vieux Fort, and Splendour Gifts and More at the Gablewoods Mall. Outlets will accept cash, debit and credit card transactions.
