Tuesday marked the official unveiling of the Government of Saint Lucia’s new web portal, www.govt.lc.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014 – Tuesday marked the official unveiling of the Government of Saint Lucia’s new web portal,
www.govt.lc. The portal will allow users greater access to government information and its agencies.

Minister for the Public Service, Information and Broadcasting, Sen. Hon. Dr. James Fletcher referred to the portal as a “labour of love” that requires continued nurturing since it is a work in progress.
Several agencies are responsible for information on the web portal and for disseminating information to the public.
Minister Fletcher said the new web portal is a necessary interactive platform gives users easy access to a multitude of government services under one umbrella.
He further added, “It gives you access to the full range of government services as opposed to a website, which is a page or a series of pages that give you information that is much more static, much less interactive.”
Minister Fletcher also noted that the web portal “is only as good as the people in putting into it.”
The new web portal is just one element of the Government of Saint Lucia’s broad program of public sector modernisation.
The launch of the “Our Government” web portal marks a milestone in Saint Lucia’s history.
