SAINT LUCIA’S INTELLECTUAL AND POLITICAL GIANTS HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO ANCHOR THE PINNACLE OF THE NEW CURRENCY LINEUP: THE $100 BANKNOTE

Prime Minister Hon. Philip J. Pierre and the Government of Saint Lucia are proudly celebrating a historic milestone for national identity as the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) officially unveils its redesigned banknote series.
In a major regional shift, the likeness of the late Queen Elizabeth II has been replaced with distinguished Eastern Caribbean heroes. During the ECCB's regional monetary consultations, Prime Minister Pierre announced that The Right Honourable Sir John George Melvin Compton had been selected to join Sir William Arthur Lewis on the new EC$100 banknote.
The redesigned EC$100 note honors two of Saint Lucia's most influential figures:
Sir William Arthur Lewis – Saint Lucia's Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences continues to grace the EC$100 banknote, cementing his global legacy in economic development.
The Right Honourable Sir John George Melvin Compton – Saint Lucia's first Prime Minister joins the note, recognizing his role in nation-building and his lifelong commitment to Caribbean integration.
