REDIRECTION OF HEALTH SERVICES FOR COMMUNITY WELLNESS CENTRES

his closure is necessary to facilitate essential rehabilitation works under the SMART initiative funded by the OECS Regional Health Project.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Nutrition informs the public of the temporary closure of the Grande Riviere, La Guerre, Ti-Rocher Micoud, Etangs, Fond St. Jacques, Jacmel and La Croix Maingot Wellness Centres. This closure is necessary to facilitate essential rehabilitation works under the SMART initiative funded by the OECS Regional Health Project.

During the closure, healthcare services will be redirected to the nearest Community Wellness Centre as of Wednesday February 18, 2026. Home visits will continue as scheduled in the various communities. The redirection of healthcare services for residents from the various communities will be as follows:

  • Grande Riviere Wellness Centre services will be redirected to the Gros-Islet Polyclinic (Primary Care) or the Babonneau Wellness Centre (once reopened).
  • La Guerre Wellness Centre services will be redirected to the Fond Assau Wellness Centre and the Babonneau Wellness Centre (once reopened)
  • Ti-Rocher Micoud Wellness Centre services will be redirected to the Micoud Wellness Centre
  • Etangs Wellness Centre services will be redirected to the Soufriere Hospital (Primary Care)
  • Fond St. Jacques Wellness Centre services will be redirected to the Soufriere Hospital (Primary Care)
  • Jacmel Wellness Centre services will be redirected to the Anse La Raye Wellness Centre
  • La Croix Maingot Wellness Centre services will be redirected to the Anse La Raye Wellness Centre and the Bexon Wellness Centre or the nearest Community Wellness Centre

Urgent care services will remain open to the public at the Gros-Islet Polyclinic, Dr. Betty Wells Urban Polyclinic and Dennery Hospital every day from 8am to 12 midnight and Soufriere Hospital will be open 24 hours.
