THE ACTIVITY AIMS TO INSPIRE FUTURE ATHLETES.

In commemoration of Kids Athletics Day which was observed on May 7, the Saint Lucia Athletics Association (SLAA) is proud to host a special Kids Athletics Activity scheduled for Thursday, May 22 at 3 p.m., at the Vigie Playing Field.

This vibrant and inclusive event will mark the kick-off of a series of activities dedicated to promoting physical literacy, fun, and early athletic engagement among children. It is part of a broader commitment by SLAA to encourage youth participation in sport and foster a lifelong love for athletics from an early age.

The activity will be facilitated by members of the Association’s Technical Committee and certified Kids Athletics Coaches, ensuring a safe, structured, and enjoyable environment for all participants. The session will take place in collaboration with Coaches Nicholas Lebrun and Dyke Francis, who regularly conduct training sessions with age-group athletes at the SAB Playing Field.

“We are excited to launch this initiative as part of our strategic focus on grassroots development,” said Dora Henry, President of the Saint Lucia Athletics Association. “Kids Athletics provides a foundation for movement skills, teamwork, and confidence—qualities that will benefit our young people both on and off the field.”

All children who participate will receive a certificate of participation.
