SAINT LUCIANS ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER, AND GAIN KNOWLEDGE IN QUALITY ASSURANCE.
The Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards has launched an academic course on Quality for Organizational Effectiveness and Sustainability. The online launch, held on January 12, was organized by CARICOM’s Regional Organization for Standards and Quality (CROSQ).
The launch was addressed by several CROSQ representatives, along with a representative from the European Union.
The e-learning platform is an initiative by the 11th European Development Fund Economic Partnership Agreement. It seeks to provide knowledge primarily for players within the Quality Infrastructure community. However, all Saint Lucians are being encouraged to take advantage of the course and become knowledgeable in quality assurance.
Director of the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards, Mr. Vern Emmanuel, said many individuals and sectors stand to benefit from the e-learning course.
“This platform will assist micro and small business along with persons who are involved in the Youth Economy and the MSME Loan Grant Facility with learning what is required for equality infrastructure and gaining greater exposure to what the national quality infrastructure is, and how they should interface in the provision of their products and services,” he said.
Speakers at the online launch explained that the course offers a pathway to various careers in Quality Assurance. Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
The program consists of five modules including Introduction to Quality Infrastructure and Quality Infrastructure –Introduction to Marketing Communication.
To date nearly 200 Caribbean nationals have registered for the Quality Assurance Course.
