On Wednesday, October 23, by the grace of God, Mrs. Philomen 'Eldica' Nicholas celebrates her monumental 110th birthday.

This soon-to-be supercentenarian was raised in Dauphin (Laborne, Monchy), and lived most of her adult years in the community of Grande-Riviere, Cros-Islet. Miss Eldica, as she is affectionately known by many, was born in the year 1914. Despite only having two children of her own, who she has sadly outlived, she survives alongside her grandchildren, over 25 great-grands and a growing handful of great-great-grands.

Those who know her well, can affirm that her strength and good-natured disposition come from her reverence for God.
