SAINT LUCIA'S EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME WAS LAUNCHED IN MARCH 2016.
The Employee Assistance Programme Unit (EAP) of the Department of the Public Service on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, participated in the official launch of Saint Vincent & the Grenadines EAP Programme. The ceremony was held under the theme “Preparing the Way for a Better and More Productive Public Service”. EAP SVG expressed thanks to the Saint Lucia EAP Unit for the assistance provided in the establishment of an EAP Unit within the Department of the Public Service in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
“Congratulations EAP, Saint Vincent & the Grenadines. You have worked really hard to realize the establishment of the Employee Assistance Programme Unit. Well done! We are proud to have been part of your conception, and now we witness your birth. You are now entering one of the most exciting and important aspects of the journey, which is seeing lives positively changed. Continue to push forward until the mental health barriers are no more”, said Mrs. Sacha Jn. Pierre-James, EAP Manager, in her congratulatory message to the EAP SVG Team.
Former EAP Coordinator, Mrs. Sygna Makarovic in her feature address, stated that “an excellent programme is not achieved when one or two individuals are performing exceptionally well. Excellence is achieved when every member of the team is giving his/her all”.
EAP Saint Lucia pledged its commitment to continue to provide the needed assistance to the team in Saint Vincent & the Grenadines.
The Employee Assistance Programme was launched within the Department of the Public Service in March 2016, as a work-based solution-oriented intervention program to assist employees in identifying challenges and developing constructive action plans and strategies to deal with work and personal life. The EAP provides each public officer with up to six free counseling sessions facilitated by highly trained professionals.
