THE EXPO WILL SHOWCASE THE ISLND'S ACCOMMODATING LANDSCAPE FOR TOURISM, INVESTMENT AND TRADE.

For 170 years, World Expos have provided a platform to showcase the greatest innovations that have shaped the world we live in today. Expo 2020 will continue that tradition with the latest technology from around the globe. In addition, Saint Lucia’s participation at Expo 2020 Dubai is poised to showcase the island’s accommodating landscape for tourism, investment, and trade to the millions of visitors anticipated to attend the World Expo held from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

Spearheading Saint Lucia’s participation at the event will be Export Saint Lucia supported by Invest Saint Lucia, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, and the Citizenship by Investment Program CIP Saint Lucia. The sister agencies which make up Brand Saint Lucia will be utilising their strengths to ensure that Saint Lucia has a stellar showing at the World Expo under the theme “Creating New Opportunities to inspire the World; Let her inspire you.”

CEO of Export Saint Lucia Ms. Sunita Daniel speaking during a recently held press conference apprised the public of the team’s mission at the Expo 2020 Dubai indicating that the international showing would give immense exposure to Brand Saint Lucia. She went on to assert that “our mission is simple; we want to capitalise on all opportunities stemming from the six-month venture while increasing our international network and leveraging the relationships that we’ve forged over the years”

Minister for Commerce, Manufacturing, Business Development, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs Hon. Emma Hippolyte added her sentiments in light of the undertaking, indicating that “Expo 2020 Dubai is exactly the sort of promotional showing that Saint Lucia needs right now, especially as we have been trying to navigate through this Covid 19 pandemic. We look forward to the many successes which will come about as a result of our rigorous planning and strategies as we look to pivot and bolster our economy.”

Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information Hon. Dr. Ernest Hilaire expressed his eagerness for participation citing a need for a heightened sense of visibility for Saint Lucia. He said, “Saint Lucia is world renowned for its tourism product, but as we have seen in recent times, a need for diversification is crucial. The groundwork is done, and Saint Lucia stands ready for a roll out of its globally competitive sectors while strengthening our mainstay of tourism.”

The ground team for Expo 2020 Dubai will be leaving Saint Lucia in the coming weeks eager to offer a taste of Saint Lucia to the rest of the world.
