THE 10 A.M. CEREMONY WILL BE HELD ON THE COLLEGE’S CAMPUS WHERE BOTH LAUREATES ARE BURIED.
The SALCC will memorialize Saint Lucia’s two Nobel Laureates at its annual Wreath Laying Ceremony slated for Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10 a.m. on the College’s campus where both the laureates are buried.
The ceremony pays tribute to the work and legacy of our Nobel Laureates, Sir Arthur Lewis and Sir Derek Walcott. Family and members of the community will place wreaths upon their gravesites. A new addition to the programme for this annual Nobel Laureate Event is the internment of the ashes of Lady Gladys, Sir Arthur Lewis’ wife, next to his tomb.
The event will be livestreamed on NTN and the Government of Saint Lucia’s YouTube channel.
