LEADING THE CHARGE IS SPRINT QUEEN JULIEN ALFRED ALONGSIDE RISING STAR AASIA LAURENCIN.
All eyes turn to Tokyo as Team Saint Lucia gets ready to light up the track at the World Athletics Championship, taking place from the 13th – 21st September 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. With speed, power, and determination, our athletes are prepared to put Saint Lucia on the global athletics map once again.
Leading the charge is sprint queen Julien Alfred (OLY), who will contest the 100m and 200m, alongside rising star Aasia Laurencin, aiming to conquer the 100m Hurdles. Together, they carry the pride and dreams of our entire nation as they go head-to-head with the world’s finest.
Backing our athletes is a powerhouse support team:
- Team Leader – Makeba Alcide
- Coach – Edrick Floreal
- President/Congress Delegate – Dora Henry
Recognizing the importance of holistic athlete care, the team will also have direct access to physiotherapy and mental coaching services to ensure they are fully supported both on and off the track.
“Team Saint Lucia is energized, focused, and determined to proudly fly our island’s flag,” said SLAA President Dora Henry. “Julien and Aasia embody the heart and spirit of Saint Lucia, and we know they will give their all on the track. With the nation behind them, they are ready to shine.” We extend heartfelt thanks to our partners, sponsors, and every Saint Lucian near and far, your support is the driving force behind their performance.”
The Saint Lucia Athletics Association extends heartfelt thanks to World Athletics, PUMA, National Lotteries Authority (NLA) and all partners for ensuring Saint Lucia’s flag will fly high in Tokyo.
