EFFECTIVE MONDAY, OCTOBER 12 2026, THE VIEUX FORT TO MECOUD BUS STAND WILL BE TEMPORARILY RELOCATED

The Transport Division, Ministry of Public Service, Transport, Information & Utilities Regulation, wishes to advise the travelling public, minibus operators, and other road users of the temporary relocation of the Vieux Fort to Micoud Bus Stand.

Effective Monday, October 12, 2026, the Vieux Fort to Micoud Bus Stand will be temporarily relocated from its current location in Vieux Fort Town to the Promenade, along the concrete road leading to the Vieux Fort Primary School. The temporary relocation will remain in effect until Friday, October 30, 2026, as part of a three-week trial period.

The trial is intended to assess the impact of traffic congestion and parking challenges currently experienced by minibus operators and other road users within the existing bus stand area. The temporary arrangement will also provide the Transport Division with an opportunity to assess the suitability of the proposed location for public transportation operations, with consideration given to the movement of buses, passenger access, traffic flow, and the overall management of the area.

Passengers and minibus operators are asked to take note of the temporary change and to cooperate with the arrangements throughout the trial period. Members of the public are also encouraged to observe and follow the appropriate signage identifying the temporary bus stand at the Promenade. The Transport Division thanks the public for its cooperation and understanding as the trial is undertaken.

The Transport Division will provide any further updates as necessary.
