THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH AIMS TO ADDRESS POTENTIAL HEALTH RISKS AND ENSURE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs wishes to inform the public of the temporary closure of several wellness centres due to concerns regarding air quality. These closures are necessary to address potential health risks and ensure the wellbeing of both staff and residents. The Ministry is fully committed to taking swift and effective action to resolve the issues and restore the services as soon as possible.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Jenny Daniel, emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to public safety. “We understand the inconvenience these closures may cause, and we sincerely apologize for any disruptions to the community. However, the health and safety of our residents are paramount, and these actions are necessary to prevent any potential health risks,” stated the Permanent Secretary.

To mitigate the impact on users, the Ministry has redirected services to nearby health facilities, ensuring continued access to essential healthcare. Comprehensive inspections are also underway, led by the Environmental Health Division and Corporate Planning Unit, which include deep cleaning, remediation efforts, and the thorough maintenance of air cooling systems.

According to the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry is taking a proactive approach in addressing potential environmental issues, including the identification and elimination of contamination sources. “Our priority is to ensure that the affected facilities meet the highest health and safety standards before resuming operations. We will provide regular updates to the public as we work diligently to restore these centres to full functionality,” explained Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Jenny Daniel.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs thanks the public for their patience and understanding during this critical period of intervention and improvement.
