The Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information is pleased to announce the 2025 National Tourism Public Speaking Competition's finalists, an exciting initiative to nurture young ambassadors for Saint Lucia’s tourism sector.
As part of the entry process, students were invited to submit a video presentation responding to the prompt: "What makes you the ideal choice to represent Saint Lucia as Junior Minister for Tourism 2025?" The Ministry received an impressive 16 entries from eight secondary schools across the island, each showcasing remarkable insight, creativity, and passion for tourism.
Following a rigorous review process, 10 finalists have been selected based on
their originality, confidence, clarity of expression, and knowledge of the tourism industry. These outstanding students will now move on to the next phase of the competition.
The 10 Finalists are:
1st Place - Jeanic Polius - St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School
2nd Place - Kaylee Simmons - Corinth Secondary School
3rd Place – Aiden Barrett – St. Mary’s College Secondary School
4th Place – Naraj Philip – Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School
5th Place – Jaeda Felicien – St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School
6th Place – Caiden Poleon – Bocage Secondary School
7th Place – Vershan Emmanuel, St. Joseph’s Convent Secondary School
8th Place – Deyonté Nicholas, Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary School
9th Place – Jediah Hippolyte – Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary School
10th Place – Leralie Baptiste – Beanfield Comprehensive Secondary School
To further prepare them for the final round, the Ministry will host a workshop and orientation session for the finalists and their liaison teachers. These sessions will focus on refining public speaking skills, deepening knowledge of key tourism topics, and enhancing overall presentation abilities.
The Ministry wishes to thank and congratulate all students who participated in this year’s competition and recognizes the hard work and unwavering dedication as a testament to their strong commitment and genuine interest in the tourism sector.
