The agency assists with market research, finds new development opportunities and facilitates market entry for new products.

The Government of Saint Lucia is seeking to make the island’s exports internationally marketable through TEPA. The Trade Export Promotion Agency’s mandate is to be the leading agency spearheading Saint Lucia’s export development thrust.

TEPA Officer for Promotions, Marketing and Public Relations, Andrena Simon says the agency seeks to promote the authenticity and the excellence of Saint Lucian products and services.

“Our export promotion and marketing activities focus on showcasing the range of products and services Saint Lucia has to offer. In doing so, we aspire to ensure that the products meet the required standards, position the products globally and also promote the products in the markets.”

According to Simon, TEPA’s use of trade shows and expositions provides opportunities to facilitate exporter’s participation.

She highlights the services offered by the agency.

“We assist exporters with market research, new opportunities for their products and services and also assist them with meeting the entry requirements in order to introduce a product and or services to a new market.”

Legislation to establish the Trade Export Promotion Agency was passed in December 2013. The governance structure came into place in August 2014.
