Vehicle registration fees kept low

The rates which vehicle owners are required to pay in Saint Lucia are among the lowest in the OECS and the region.

Following changes in the vehicle registration fee structure on Sep. 1, the rates which vehicle owners are required to pay in Saint Lucia are among the lowest in the OECS and the region. The following table provides some more analysis of the local fees when compared to other countries.

For clarity, the highest, that a private car pays in Saint Lucia is $350, while Vincentians pay $575, Grenadians pay $290, Dominicans pay $590 and Barbadians pay $1600.

For goods vehicles, the highest that a Saint Lucian pays is $700, while a Vincentian pays $1380, a Grenadian pays $3500, a Dominican pays $6010, and a Barbadian, $7500.

Where heavy equipment is concerned, the highest a Saint Lucian will pay is $750, while a Vincentian pays $1380, a Grenadian pays $3500, a Dominican pays $2950, and a Barbadian, $7500.

It is therefore clear that the Government of Saint Lucia has kept local fees relatively low when compared with other regional countries.
