WIPO to host Regional Conference on Intellectual Property and Sport for Caribbean Countries

THE CONFERENCE WILL TAKE PLACE VIRTUALLY FROM AUG. 27 TO 28, VIA ZOOM.
The Government of Saint Lucia, in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) , is pleased to extend an invitation to you to participate in the upcoming Regional Conference on Intellectual Property (IP) and Sport for Caribbean Countries. The conference will be held under the theme “Beyond the Game: Innovation, IP and Sports” and will take place virtually via Zoom on 27–28 August 2025.
 
This event will bring together athletes, sport administrators, educators, legal professionals, and key regional and international stakeholders to explore the intersection of intellectual property, innovation, and the evolving landscape of sports. The two-day conference will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions on topics such as athlete branding, sports technology, and IP commercialization.
 
The objectives of the conference are to:
  • Promote best practices by educating athletes, sports administrators, and related professionals on the value of IP in sport;
  • Enhance regional engagement by sharing insights from WIPO’s Diagnostic Review of IP and Sports pilot project; and
  • Build practical skills through targeted training that enables athletes to leverage IP as a tool for professional growth.
