The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco through the Agence Marocaine de Cooperation Internationale’s (AMCI's) is pleased to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates desirous of pursing studies at Moroccan public institutions of higher, technical and vocational education. Twenty (20) scholarships have been offered to pursue studies up to the PhD level, commencing 2018-2019 academic year. The scholarship opportunities are annual and scholarships forfeited, will not be renewed.
GENERAL INFORMATION
A directory of training institutions is available on the AMCI's website, containing a complete list of Moroccan public institutions of higher education with information on entry requirements, areas of study and duration of studies. Information on possible the areas of study available can be found at here. Placement of candidates in a chosen program of study is consequent upon:
- Acceptance of application package;
- Priority of study options; and
- area of study.
The deadline for submission of nominations by the Agence Marocaine de Cooperation Internationale (AMCI) is:
- August 13th, 2018 for categories B: institutions of open access with a commence date of Mid-September 2018, for; and
- November 15th, 2018 for category C: for persons requiring introductory courses in French language to commence their programme in January 1st, 2019.
VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The stipend is 750 Dirham per month (approximately US$75) and is granted for a 12 month period per academic year (from September to August). Payment of the stipend is based on the candidate's attendance at school and is facilitated through the Agencies of the "Banque Central Populaire". The scholarship awardee will have to show his/her passport upon receiving the stipend. The scholarship does not cover the following:
- Registration fees of 450 Moroccan Dirham (About 45 USD);
- accommodation;
- transportation;
- one travel ticket;
- insurance; and
- other charges related to studies.
LANGUAGE OF LEARNING
French is the language of instruction in most training institutions in Morocco. Candidates applying for scholarship opportunities need to master French Language, otherwise, they will need to follow a one year upgrade in French at the International Language Centre in Rabat, after which those who are deemed eligible in the final examinations will be directed to the appropriate field of studies according to:
- academic qualifications;
- qualifications and criteria; and
- the educational openings available for each field of studies.
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate studies (Bachelor's degree)
- The selection for the undergraduate degree is done according to;
- the requirements of the training institution;
- the subject of study;
- the space available; and
- academic qualifications of the applicants.
- The applicants must be bearers of high school diploma/certificate of the year 2018 or 2017 with the marks of distinction: "Very Good", "Good" or "Fairly Good".
- The age range requirement is between 19 and 23 years, according to the academic establishment sought.
Graduate and post- graduate studies
- Applicants for admission to graduate studies (Master's) must be holders of a bachelor’s degree in the requested subjects/specialties of study with results showing the mark of distinction: "Very Good", "Good" or "Fairly Good".
- Applicants for admission to PhD must be holders of a graduate degree in the requested area of study recognized as being equivalent to Moroccan granted diplomas.
- Candidates for Master's or PhD must state the subject and the requested university. This information can be found on the Department of Higher Education: www.enssup.gov.ma and the websites of Moroccan universities.
- Applicants meeting the general admission requirements are submitted to the scientific committees of the concerned universities for processing.
APPLICATION OF CANDIDATES
The application form can be downloaded from http://amci.ma/fcf.pdf. To complete the application process two (2) copies of each of the following documents must be attached to the application form:
- certified baccalaureate (GCE or CAPE) or high-school diploma; and
- certified baccalaureate transcript.
In addition, a copy of the following needs to be attached:
- birth certificate;
- passport;
- medical certificate showing physical aptitude of the applicant and certifying that he or she is not suffering from any contagious illness or carrying a pandemic (candidate may be compelled to do a follow up medical visit in Morocco); and
- recent passport photographs, in colour, (with the full name and nationality of the candidate written on the back);
Applicants for Master's and PhD degrees must provide, in addition to the above documents, certified copies of their diplomas, grade transcript and continuing education programmes, as well as a copy of the dissertation/thesis of graduation/thesis project for the PhD degree.
