The Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour hereby informs of the call for candidates to participate in the Darmasiswa Scholarship programme offered by the Ministry of Education and Culture in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2015-2016.
Darmassiswa is a non-degree scholarship programme offered to all foreign students from countries which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia. The main purpose of this programme is to enhance mutual understanding and provide stronger cultural links among different countries. The areas of studies are:
- art;
- culinary arts;
- information technology;
- textile;
- architecture;
- computer system;
- batik arts;
- traditional herbal medicine; and
- Indonesian language.
Candidates are allowed to decide the higher institutions (universities) which carry out the programme. The list of universities is attached for candidate’s consideration and information.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for an award, an applicant MUST:
- be a citizen of Saint Lucia;
- not be more than 35 years of age;
- be of single status;
- be a student as proven by recommendation letter from host university and recent transcript;
- have completed secondary education or its equivalent;
- be in good health as proven by a medical certificate;
- be able to communicate in English or Bahasa Indonesia is required; and
- have basic knowledge of the area of study candidate is applying for.
Visa Arrangement
The Darmasiswa student is required to have a Social Visit Visa (VKSB) for 60 days, issued by the Indonesian Embassy in the student’s country of residence. Upon arrival in Indonesia, the Darmasiswa student’s passport has to be submitted to the Bureau of Planning and International Cooperation, Ministry of Education and Culture, for necessary arrangements in obtaining recommendations of the State Secretariat and the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights. Students are prohibited to apply for Tourist Visa or On-Arrival Visa for study purposes.
Coverage of Scholarship
The student will receive a monthly allowance of Rp 2.000.000,00 (two million rupiah). This will cover the following;
- Living Cost : Rp. 1.200.000
- Book Allowance : Rp. 200.000
- Local Transport : Rp. 200.000
- Medical/health Care : Rp. 200.000
- Pocket Money : Rp. 200.000
Accommodation
The Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia does not provide accommodation for students.
Procedure
Applicants should register at the Embassy;/Consulate General in the country of origin of students.
Application Requirements
Application forms are available at the Human Resource Development department of the Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development and Labour, 4th Floor, Francis Compton Building, Waterfront, Castries.
Students must submit a complete application package at the aforementioned department. The

7. Copy of passport valid at least 18 months from time of arrival in Indonesia

9. Five (5) passport size colour photographs
