EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS TO STUDY
IN MOROCCO FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2023-2024
The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco through the Moroccan International Cooperation Agency (AMCI's) is pleased to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates desirous of pursing studies at Moroccan public institutions of higher, technical and vocational education. Twenty (20) scholarships have been offered to pursue studies up to the PhD level, commencing 2023-2024 academic year. The scholarship opportunities are annual and scholarships forfeited, will not be renewed.
GENERAL INFORMATION
A directory of training institutions can be accessed at www.amci.ma, https://www.ofppt.ma/ or https://www.enssup.gov.ma/fr providing information on entry requirements, areas of study and duration of studies. Please note that placement of candidates in a chosen programme of study is consequent upon the following:
- acceptance of application package;
- priority of study options; and
- area of study.
VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP
The stipend is 750 Dirham per month (approximately US$75) and is granted for a 12-month period per academic year (from September to August). Payment of the stipend is based on the candidate's attendance at school and is facilitated through the Agencies of the "Banque Central Populaire". The scholarship awardee will have to show his/her passport upon receiving the stipend. The scholarship covers the following:
- stipend of 750 Moroccan Dirhams monthly (About 75 USD);
- one return travel ticket; and
- insurance
NB - Since University accommodation is not guaranteed, a supplemental housing assistance of 500.00 dirhams (About 50 USD) will be given to students who do not benefit from accommodation at the University. The maximum tenancy period at university is three (3) years, after which awardees will be required to secure private accommodation.
LANGUAGE OF LEARNING
French is the language of instruction in most training institutions in Morocco. Candidates applying for this scholarship will require some level of mastery in French Language. Otherwise, they will need to follow a one-year upgrade in French at the International Language Centre in Rabat, after which those who are deemed eligible in the final examinations will be directed to the appropriate field of studies according to:
- academic qualifications;
- qualifications and criteria; and
- the educational openings available for each field of studies.
GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate studies
- The selection for the undergraduate degree is processed according to;
- the requirements of the training institution;
- the area of study;
- the space available; and
- academic qualifications of the applicants.
- The applicants must be bearers of high school diploma/certificate of the year 2022 or 2023 with the marks of distinction: "Very Good", "Good" or "Fairly Good".
- The age range requirement is between 19 and 23 years, according to the academic establishment sought.
Graduate and post- graduate studies
- Applicants for admission to graduate studies (Master's) must be holders of a bachelor’s degree in the requested programme of study with results showing the ranking of “1st class” or “2nd class".
- Applicants for admission to PhD must be holders of a graduate degree in the requested programme of study, which should be equivalent to Moroccan-granted diplomas.
- Candidates for Master's or PhD must state the programme and university of choice at the time of application. A list of educational institutions can be found at https://www.enssup.gov.ma/fr to assist with programme and institution choice.
- Applications meeting the general admission requirements are submitted to the scientific committees of the concerned universities for processing.
APPLICATION OF CANDIDATES

In addition, please submit two (2) copies of each of the following documents:
- certified baccalaureate (GCE or CAPE) or high-school diploma; and
- Official baccalaureate transcript.
- birth certificate;
- bio-data page passport;
- One (1) recent police record;
- medical certificate showing physical aptitude of the applicant and certifying that he or she is not suffering from any contagious illness or carrying a pandemic (candidate may be compelled to do a follow up medical visit in Morocco); and
- recent passport photographs, in colour (with the full name and nationality of the candidate written on the back);
Applicants for Master's and PhD degrees must provide, in addition to the above documents, certified copies of their diplomas, grade transcript and continuing education programmes, as well as a copy of the dissertation/thesis of graduation/thesis project for the PhD degree.
