The Inter-American Defense College (IDAC) invites suitably qualified Saint Lucians to apply for the scholarship opportunity to pursue the Master of Science in Inter-American Defense and Security with the Inter-American Defense College. The programme is designed to prepare senior Police Officers and Government Civilian Leaders for greater responsibilities by providing them with training in broad based security issues affecting the Western Hemisphere and the world.

To be eligible for selection, 

Police must:
1.    be a citizen of Saint Lucia;
2.    possess a bachelor’s degree;
3.    have attained the senior rank, duty, or responsibility of a Lieutenant Colonel, Colonel, or other equivalent;
4.    have graduated from  an advanced command and staff school;
5.    be fluent in French and/or Spanish;
6.    possess the educational background and/or professional experience for the requested academic programme.

Government Civilian Leaders must:
1.    be a citizen of Saint Lucia;
2.    possess a bachelor’s degree;
3.    be a government official or employee;
4.    be fluent in French and/or Spanish;
5.    have the seniority, professional experience, and possibilities of the future employment comparable to those required for Military students.
