The Ministry of Education, Human Resource Development & Labour hereby informs of the call for applicants for the New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) to suitably qualified Saint Lucians interested in pursuing Graduate and Postgraduate programmes commencing 2016.
Preference will be given to candidates interested in undertaking studies in the areas listed below who demonstrate strong academic ability, leadership qualities, and a commitment to the development of their country.
- Agriculture development;
- Renewable energy; or
- Disaster risk management.

New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) offers are available for the following levels of study:
- Postgraduate Certificate (6 months);
- Postgraduate Diploma (1 year); and
- Masters Degree (1 – 2 years).

Applicants for programmes at the Diploma or Certificate level can forward applications to any of the following institutes for acceptance.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for selection an applicant must:
- be a citizen of Saint Lucia residing in Saint Lucia for at least two (2) years prior to application;
- be at least eighteen (18) years and not more than thirty nine (39) years old before the start of the scholarship;
- demonstrate how the study to be undertaken will enable you to contribute to the sustainable development of your country; and
- agree in writing to return to Saint Lucia following completion of the scholarship and contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.
