The Organization of American States (OAS), through the Department of Human Development, Education and Employment (DHDEE) and the University of South Carolina Aiken (USC Aiken), through the OAS Partnerships Programme for Education and Training (PAEC), are offering scholarships to qualified candidates of the Americas to participate in the USC Aiken undergraduate programmes as indicated in Annex 1 which start (Fall) August 24, 2017 and (Spring) January 2018. The end date varies per programme of study.
The modality of the course is onsite in South Carolina, United States.
To be considered for this scholarship opportunity, an applicant must:
- be a citizen and/or permanent legal resident of Saint Lucia;
- submit a complete scholarship application with all required supporting documents;
- provide an unconditional admission letter to University of South Carolina Aiken;
- have not received other scholarship from the OAS for the same level of studies and/or programmes of study as advertised in this announcement; and
- not be an OAS staff or individual who maintains employment contracts with the OAS or a staff of a Permanent Mission to the OAS or immediate relatives of a staff of a Permanent Mission to the OAS.
The scholarship recipient will receive the following benefits:
- USD $250 per semester applicable to the Fall and Spring semesters each year;
- In-state tuition cost; and
- USD $1,000 one-time subsistence allowance to the top ranked candidates to help defray the cost of travel to USC Aiken.
