SPARTAN HEALTH SCIENCES UNIVERSITY 50% SCHOLARSHIP -SPRING 2021

The Department of Education, Innovation and Gender Relations invites suitably qualified persons to submit applications for the fifty percent (50%) scholarship offered by Spartan Health Sciences University to pursue either the Premed or the MD programme.

Five (5) awards will cover fifty percent (50%) of tuition fees.  These awards are applicable ONLY to new students commencing studies in the Spring 2021 trimester.  Applicants are to note that:

1. the scholarships cover tuition cost only, and do not include the cost of books or any other expenses;
2. scholarships are not transferrable, and can only be used by the awardees;
3. scholarship awardees must complete the application process and must be accepted to Spring 2021 trimester; which commences January 11, 2021.  Deadline to apply to Spartan Health Sciences University for the Spring 2021 trimester is November 13, 2020;
4. awardees must maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.8 and above; and
5. awardees must agree to adhere and abide to all the rules and policies as outlined in the current school’s catalogue and /or Student Handbook.  

To be eligible for an award, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

1.be citizens of Saint Lucia – proof of citizenship must be submitted;

2.must be a permanent resident of Saint Lucia – proof of address must be submitted;

3.have gained acceptance into Spartan Health Sciences University for the Spring trimester commencing January 2021, to pursue full-time studies.  A letter of acceptance or proof of application MUST be presented at the time of submitting your application.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted online via:  http://scholarships.education.gov.lc/

1. SCAN all required documents (Ensure that all documents are legible).
2. Complete the Online Application, and upload the required documents to your online application.
3. After submitting the online application, you will receive a confirmation email.

If you do not receive the confirmation email after submitting your online application, please send an email to: hrd@education.gov.lc or hrdeducation.slu@gmail.com or call 468-5229/5431. Incomplete applications will be deemed ineligible.

Required Documents:

1. Verified copies of Academic, Professional and Technical Certificates (Verified by the Department of Education);
2. Official transcript for last level of study, addressed to the Director, HRD Unit, 4^th Floor, Francis Compton Bldg., Waterfront, Castries;
3. Letter of Admission to Institution/proof of application if acceptance letter is unavailable ;
4. Physical examination certificate three (3) months or less showing good physical and mental health;
5. Copy of Birth Certificate;
6. Two Letters of Recommendation to be uploaded on the application portal by the Referee (please follow instructions on the application portal);
7. Cover Minute from Permanent Secretary/Head of Department, endorsing the request for Training (For Public Service Employees only).;
8. Statement of Conduct and Work Ethics Form (for Public Service Employees only); and
9. Resume.

Please note that incomplete applications will be deemed ineligible and not be considered. Late submissions will not be accepted.
