Assignment Title: Design of Volet Culvert Crossing

Saint Lucia has received financing from the International Development Bank and the Strategic Climate Fund towards the Disaster Vulnerability Reduction Project (DVRP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for consulting services for the Design of Volet Culvert Crossing
The consulting services (“the Services”) include preparation of detailed designs and works requirements such as detailed construction drawings, accurate bills of quantities, and technical specifications per international standards under the local climate and seismic conditions for the design of Volet Culvert Crossing. Design considerations should also include construction of a bypass to allow access and other ancillary construction activities that may be required to support / enhance the proposed culvert crossing. The objective is to engage suitably qualified and experienced consulting firm to provide technical services, which include;
- Surveys, Site Investigation and Analysis
- Structural Analysis and Design
- Final Design Report
and produce the following deliverables; Updated Work Plan, Report on ESIA and ESMP, Preliminary Design Report, Design Options and Final Designs Report. The duration of the assignment is six (6) months.
The Department of Economic Development, Transport and Civil Aviation now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services; (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, please note that the individual experts’ bio data is not required.)

The Consulting Firm:
In general the Consulting Firm shall have the following minimum Specific Experience:
- At least 10 years of consulting experience in the areas of slope stabilization assessments and design of retaining structures; road and embankment restoration/rehabilitation.
- At least one successfully completed similar assignment during the past 5 years; that is, an assignment involving restoration of rivers, riverbanks and design of bridges.
- Experience in consultancy in small island developing states (SIDS) and the Caribbean Region would be an advantage.
