The promotion of seven correctional officers boosted staff morale, the communications officer said.

Seven Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF) officers were promoted, Oct. 8, at an official briefing ceremony. The officers were promoted effective Oct. 1.

Chevrons were presented to the newly promoted officers by the Director of Corrections Mr. Vern Garde. According to BCF Communications Officer, Clive Jules, the activity provided a boost to the spirit du corps of the staff.

The last promotion ceremony was held in 2013.

Meanwhile, the BCF has stressed its commitment to curb contraband activity at the facility. Measures put in place to strengthen security in and around the facility have resulted in a decrease in such activity.
