The concert, hosted within the 2015 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, is the first of CDF’s Cultural Icon Series.
The Cultural Development Foundation (CDF), and the Saint Lucia School of Music, under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency Dame Calliopa Pearlette Louisy, are gearing up to host the inaugural celebration of the CDF’s Cultural Icon Series.
The inaugural event, titled the "Cadet Concert" will pay musical tribute to the legacy of Charles Cadet, Saint Lucia’s foremost composer, with interpretations of his much loved music in Folk, Latin, Sacred, Contemporary and Jazz genres including renditions of "Banjo Man", "Chanson Marianne", and the "Legend of Tom Fool". It will also premiere his exciting new work, “Le Fin Journée.”
The celebration, hosted within the 2015 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, will take place on Sunday, May 3, at the National Cultural Centre. The concert will feature Ronald “Boo” Hinkson, Derede Williams, Lennie Stone, Elra Ermay, Shayne Ross, Special Blend, Jessie Leonce, Ready, Jessy Billy, Saint Lucia School of Music Orchestra and many more.
