THE MEDICATIONS WILL HELP TREAT PATIENTS WITH RARE CONDITIONS.

The Federative Republic of Brazil, through the Ministry of External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs, formally engaged with the Government of Saint Lucia to present a quantity of medications that will assist in the treatment of rare conditions.

Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil, His Excellency Colbert Soares Pinto Junior, underscored that the donation stands as a symbol of the strong ties between Brazil and Saint Lucia, and the countries’ dedication to advancing shared development goals.
“This donation is a voluntary contribution carried out by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), and the Ministry of External Affairs of Brazil at no cost to Saint Lucia,” he said. “This initiative is an example of south-south cooperation for development which is the main line of cooperation practiced by the Brazilian government.”

Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs, Dr. Glenford Joseph, highlighted Brazil’s longstanding commitment to providing aid for Saint Lucia’s health sector.

“Since 1979, the Federative Republic of Brazil has been a steadfast ally to our journey toward improving the quality of life for Saint Lucians” he said. “The donation of these medications is another of many initiatives undertaken by the Federative Republic of Brazil to strengthen the health sector. History has archived the many training opportunities and technical assistance provided in different sectors including agriculture.”

Dr. Joseph also noted Brazil’s invaluable contribution to the enhancement of Saint Lucia’s health sector, citing a recent donation of polio vaccines as a testament to this collaboration. This latest donation of medications was presented to Saint Lucia on July 25, 2025.
