World Acclaimed Chef Orlando will excite taste buds with his unique culinary creations.

The culinary prowess of yet another famed and celebrated Saint Lucia chef will be displayed, as mouth-watering culinary flavor is added to the 24th edition of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival.

Festival patrons will be in for a treat when Soufriere-based chef, Orlando Satchell, delivers a one-of-a-kind culinary experience as part of the growing arts segment of the festival.

The world renowned Chef Orlando who specializes in Caribbean cuisine, will take centre stage at Pigeon Island, displaying his culinary skill on three consecutive days starting May 8.

“Placing the spotlight on Saint Lucia’s legendary fine cuisine and the island’s superbly talented chefs is testament to the diversification of the arts component of the festival,” said Deputy Director and Head of Marketing for the Saint Lucia Tourist Board, Tracey Warner-Arnold.

“We began flavoring the festival in 2014 with our culinary ambassador Nina Compton, and we are proud to continue with yet another internationally-recognized but locally grounded chef, Orlando Satchell.”

Festival patrons will be able to sample some of the delectable culinary creations as part of an open-air cooking demonstration carded for the afternoon of Saturday, May 9.

Patrons can also partake in the fine dining experience that includes a scrumptious three-course menu by booking reservations. There is a small, but carefully chosen wine list that pairs well with the cuisine and enhances the dining experience.

Chef Orlando Satchell served as the Executive Chef at the internationally acclaimed Ladera Resort for 14 years. He subsequently established the first Caribbean restaurant in Singapore and in several top hotels in London. He was the first Caribbean chef invited by the prestigious James Beard Foundation in New York to demonstrate his cooking style.  He has also demonstrated at Le Cordon Bleu in London.

His own restaurant, named Orlando’s, is nestled in the southwestern town of Soufriere, and gained a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor after only one year in operation. It has been the top rated restaurant in Soufriere ever since.
