All roads lead to Saint Lucia this May for a celebration of local, regional and international jazz.

Saint Lucia Jazz returns as part of SOLEIL – the Saint Lucia Summer Festival that comprises six cultural and artistic events, from May to October 2017.

The season of festivals opens with Saint Lucia Jazz 2017, a four-day event that will feature quality Saint Lucian, Caribbean, and international jazz, beginning on May 11 and culminating at a Mother’s Day concert on May 14, at the iconic Pigeon Island National Landmark.

This year’s festival lineup blends island culture, famed musical talent, and eclectic music genres. Internationally renowned performers taking center stage this year include the Grammy-nominated singer and actress Vanessa Williams and the multi-talented Rachelle Ferrell. Saint Lucian and Caribbean jazz and related genres of music will also feature prominently, with the Rupert Lay Quartet, Michael Robinson, Ronald Boo Hinkson and Friends, David Rudder and the Caribbean band Bluemangó, led by Saint Lucian Richard Payne, and joined on stage by Haitian trumpetist Jean Caze and Guadeloupean vocalist Malika Tirolien.

Additional headliners include pianist, composer and social activist Danilo Pérez; Grammy-winning drummer, composer and bandleader Terri Lyne Carrington; and Kenny Garrett, a Grammy award-winning jazz saxophonist and flautist who was a member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra and the Miles Davis' band.

Tickets for the Saint Lucia Jazz Festival cost US$37/EC$100 for the Thursday and Friday night shows, and US$65/EC$175 for the Saturday and Sunday shows. Tickets can be purchased online at www.soleilsaintlucia.com.
