THE CENTRE WAS DESTROYED BY FIRE IN MARCH 2015.
After nearly a decade without a dedicated facility, La Ressource residents can once again access essential primary health care within their own community.
The La Ressource Wellness Centre was destroyed by fire on March 11, 2015, disrupting services and forcing residents to seek primary care services elsewhere. Despite outreach efforts and support from neighboring facilities, the need for a fully-equipped wellness center remained urgent.
Recognizing this, Prime Minister Hon. Philip J. Pierre, in collaboration with Hon. Shawn Edward, Parliamentary Representative for Dennery (north), and Hon. Moses Jn. Baptiste, Minister for Health, Wellness, and Elderly Affairs, remained steadfast in their long-standing commitment to restoring and enhancing the facility. That promise was fulfilled on Feb. 28, 2025.
The new La Ressource Wellness Centre not only restores vital health services—including maternal and child care, chronic disease management, and general medical clinics—but also introduces specialist care in dental health, mental health, men’s health, and podiatry.
With improved infrastructure and expanded services, the La Ressource Wellness Centre stands as a testament to the leadership of Prime Minister Hon. Philp J. Pierre and his administration's unwavering commitment to accessible, high-quality healthcare for all Saint Lucians.
