SIR NEVILLE SERVED AS GOVERNOR GENERAL FROM 2018 UNTIL THE CONCLUSION OF HIS TENURE IN OCTOBER 2021.

On behalf of the Government and people of Saint Lucia, Prime Minister Hon. Philip J. Pierre extends sincere condolences to Lady Julita, the children and family of the late Sir Emmanuel Neville Cenac.

Sir Neville's contribution to Saint Lucia spanned more than five decades. He entered politics in 1968 and culminated in 2021. He served the nation in several capacities, including Mayor of Castries, Parliamentary Representative for Laborie, Leader of the Opposition, Minister for Foreign Affairs, President of the Senate and Governor General of Saint Lucia.

Sir Neville served as Governor General from 2018 until the conclusion of his tenure in October 2021.

Following consultation with the family, Sir Neville will be accorded a State Funeral in keeping with established protocol and in recognition of his service to Saint Lucia.

The Prime Minister, on behalf of the Government and People of Saint Lucia, extends condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Sir Emmanuel Neville Cenac.
