Saint Lucia notes 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Russia

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENTS OF SAINT LUCIA AND THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION HAS BEEN BUILT ON THE BASIS OF MUTUAL RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING.

The Government of Saint Lucia is marking the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Saint Lucia and the Russian Federation. Saint Lucia’s Minister for External Affairs, International Trade, Civil Aviation and Diaspora Affairs, the Hon. Alva Baptiste has written to his Russian counterpart, His Excellency Sergey Lavrov, extending warmest congratulations to him and the people of Russia on this milestone in the history of relations between the two countries. Saint Lucia and the Russian Federation established diplomatic relations on April 19, 2004.

In his letter to the Russian Foreign Minister, Hon. Alva Baptiste highlighted that the relationship between the Government of Saint Lucia and the Government of the Russian Federation has been built on the basis of mutual respect and understanding for the past two decades, adding, “We have collaborated on issues of common interest and explored new avenues for economic cooperation”.

Hon. Alva Baptiste looks forward to the continuation of the bonds between Saint Lucia and the Russian Federation.
