The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority has partnered with TEMPO Networks for a Caribbean Hot Ones feature on Chef Shorne Benjamin, showcasing Saint Lucia’s culinary identity and culture across the region, while supporting efforts to elevate the island’s culinary tourism profile and global talent.
Known for his bold Caribbean flavours, creative food storytelling, and charismatic personality, Chef Shorne has become one of the Caribbean diaspora’s most recognisable culinary ambassadors. Born and raised in Saint Lucia, he has built an acclaimed career in the United States, celebrated for his modern interpretations of Caribbean cuisine and commitment to preserving authentic island flavours. He is also the owner of Fat Fowl, a Brooklyn-based restaurant known for its elevated Caribbean dining experience.
The Caribbean Hot Ones feature highlights several key moments from Chef Shorne’s recent time in Saint Lucia, including his participation in the 2026 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival Icon Gala Dinner, where he shared the culinary spotlight with the late Chef Harry. It also follows his emotional return to his alma mater, where he engaged aspiring culinary students, offering mentorship and sharing his journey from Saint Lucia to international recognition.
Additional highlights include an intimate look inside Fat Fowl in Brooklyn, showcasing how flavours and culture continue to influence his culinary philosophy and connect Caribbean communities abroad.
