IRELAND’S FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME 2026 - 2027

 

The Government of Ireland, through the Fellowship Programme for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) announces its offer of scholarships to eligible Saint Lucians desirous of pursuing studies at the Masters level, commencing August or September each year.

 

The Programme aims to:

  • nurture future SIDS leaders, women and men;
  • develop in-country capacity to address climate change and achieve national sustainable developmental goals in line with Agenda 2030; and
  • build positive relationships between Ireland and SIDS. 

 

Successful candidates will undertake Masters-level studies in courses relevant to addressing climate change, the blue economy, and associated challenges.  On return home, graduates are expected to bring their acquired skills to contribute to capacity building in their home countries.  It is also envisaged that they will contribute to building enduring positive personal and professional relationships with Ireland, promoting institutional linkages.

 

The programme is fully funded by the Irish Government and is offered under the auspices of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).   Programmes may be between 10 and 16-months duration depending on the course of study. and covers tuition, airfare, and accommodation.

  • Stage 1   Preliminary Application;
  • Stage 2   Detailed Application;
  • Stage 3   Interviews.
