MOROCCAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-2026

 

The Government of the Kingdom of Morocco through its Academic Cooperation Programme with the Moroccan International Cooperation Agency (AMCI's) is pleased to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates desirous of pursuing studies at Moroccan Public Universities and Higher Institutions and Vocational Training Centres.  Twenty (20) scholarships have been offered to pursue studies up to the Doctoral level, commencing 2025-2026 academic year.  The scholarship opportunities are annual and scholarships forfeited, will not be renewed.

Please note that placement of candidates in a chosen programme of study is consequent upon the following:

  • acceptance of application package; 
  • priority of study options; and
  • area of study.

 

VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP

 

The scholarship covers the following:

  • stipend of 1750 Moroccan Dirhams monthly (About 175 USD);
  • Ticket (one one-way ticket at the beginning of the course + one return ticket at the end of the studies); and
  • insurance

 

 

The training grant (stipend) is a living allowance.  It does not cover enrollment fees, boarding, local transportation, or any other study-related expenses, which remain the responsibility of the student.

 

The amount of the stipend awarded to students from the Caribbean and Pacific countries is 1750 Dirham per month (approximately US$175) and is granted for a 12-month period per academic year (from September to August). 

Payment of the stipend is based on the candidate's attendance at school and is facilitated through the Agencies of the "Banque Central Populaire".   

 

The stipend is paid every two months, in accordance with the established schedule, directly and exclusively at all “Banque Populaire” branches.  The scholarship awardee will have to show his/her passport upon receiving the stipend. 

 

Students pursuing a Master’s or Doctorate degree may be eligible for a lump sum grant to cover the cost of printing their dissertation or thesis, subject to submission to AMCI of a copy of the work, a certified copy of the diploma, or a certificate of completion of the course.

 

The terms and conditions for awarding and collecting the grant are detailed in the booklet entitle “Regulations Governing Training and internship Grants Awarded to Foreign Students and Trainees,” which will be provided to beneficiaries upon their arrival in Morocco.

 

LANGUAGE OF LEARNING

French is the language of instruction in most training institutions in Morocco.  Candidates applying for this scholarship will require some level of mastery in French Language.  Successful applicants will be required to take French language courses at the International Language Centre in Rabat, during the 2025/2026 academic year.  At the end of the language preparatory programme, students who have passed language examinations will be able to enroll in the field of study/branch they were assigned to before arriving in Morocco.

 

The “Arabic Language and Literature” and “Islamic Studies” courses are taught in Arabic.  Candidates must be fluent in Arabic.  The “Legal Sciences” coarse is taught in either Arabic or French.

 

GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

 

Undergraduate studies

- The selection for the undergraduate degree is processed according to;

  • the requirements of the training institution;
  • the area of study;
  • the space available; and
  • academic qualifications of the applicants.

 

- Undergraduate students aged between 19 and 23 years old who hold a CAPE/Associate degree in 2024 with Grade A or B or preparing the same degree in 2025 and maintained a good academic record during the last two semesters of their studies.

 

 

Graduate studies

- Applicants for admission to graduate studies (Master's) must be holders of a bachelor’s degree in the requested programme of study with results showing the ranking of “1st class” or “2nd class" or a diploma recognized as equivalent in the field of study applied for, with a good academic record.

 

- Applicants for admission to PhD must be holders of a graduate degree in the requested programme of study or an equivalent recognized higher education diploma, qualifying them for the course applied for.

 

- Candidates for Master's or PhD must state the programme and university of choice at the time of application.  A list of educational institutions can be found at https://www.enssup.gov.ma to assist with programme and institution choice. 

 

- Applications meeting the general admission requirements are submitted to the scientific committees of the concerned universities for processing.

 

 

Diploma equivalence

-    In certain cases, final enrolment in Moroccan university/higher institute is conditional upon presentation of a certificate of equivalence of the diploma obtained, in accordance with Decree no. 2-01-333 of June 21, 2001, relating to the conditions and procedure for granting equivalence of higher education diplomas.

 

 

APPLICATION OF CANDIDATES

In addition, please submit the following documents:

 

  1. 1st and 2nd year CAPE or Associate Degree (verified copies);
  2. tertiary level transcript;
  3. birth certificate;
  4. national identification card (Copy)
  5. passport bio-data page (Copy);
  6. one (1) recent police record; and
  7. A medical certificate issued by the public health department testifying the applicant’s physical and mental fitness and certifying that he or she is vaccinated and is not suffering from any contagious or acute disease, or is a carrier of a pandemic notably tuberculosis. (candidate may be required to undergo a counter-check upon arrival in Morocco).

 

Applicants for Master's and PhD degrees must provide, in addition to nos. 2 - 7 above documents, the following:

  • university diploma(s);
  • official transcripts of diploma(s);
  • curriculum of study for degrees; and
  • for doctoral students, Master’s dissertation/thesis and doctoral thesis project.

 

REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

 

- successful candidates will each receive, through diplomatic channels, a “Letter of Information/Convocation” in their personal name, containing details of the training and scholarship conditions awarded to them, as well as those for their study stay in Morocco.

 

-    successful applicants must apply for a visa through the Moroccan Embassy in Saint Lucia

 

-    successful candidates who fail to report to AMCI within the allotted time will be deemed to have withdrawn their application

 

-    the successful candidate’s presence in Morocco constitutes final acceptance of the offer.  As the offer of enrolment is irrevocable, no request for a change direction or school will be accepted

 

-    upon arrival in Rabat, the student must present his Letter of Information/Convocation to the AMCI/”Guichet Unique”, in order to complete other formalities of registration, scholarship and subscription to the insurance policy

 

He/she must then:

 

-    Reach the university/higher institute to complete the final registration formalities.  In this respect he/she must:

 

-    comply with the internal regulations of the university/higher institute where he/she is registered

 

-    note that training at public university/higher institute in Morocco is free of charge.  However, certain universities/higher institutes offering technical training may require the purchase of specific equipment and/or the payment of related fees, which remain the responsibility of the student.

 

-    send/deposit at AMCI a certified copy of the registration certificate issued by the university/higher institute.

 

ACCOMMODATION

 

Accommodation on university campuses is not always guaranteed for all students.  Foreign students regularly enrolled in public universities/higher institutes may, subject to availability, be accommodated in university campuses, for a small contribution towards rent.

 

Students wishing to take advantage of this offer should apply to AMCI.

 

Accommodation in a university campus lasts for a maximum of 3 years, after which awardees will be required to secure private accommodation.

 

Accommodation at the “Cité Universitaire Internationale” (CUI) is subject to the same conditions and regulations as other university residences in Morocco.  However, failure to comply with the CUI’s internal regulations will result in automatic and permanent exclusion from the CUI.

 

Students who rent from the private sector must draw up lease contracts with the landlords, as these documents are required to obtain a registration card (residence permit).

 

NB - Since University accommodation is not guaranteed, a supplemental housing assistance of 500.00 dirhams (About 50 USD) will be given to students who do not benefit from accommodation at the University, in addition to the normal grant. 

 

CATERING

 

Many university campuses have a university restaurant offering meals to students at a subsidized rate, subject to availability

 

Students interested in this service should contact the university campus administration to obtain a university restaurant card.

 

MEDICAL COVERAGE

 

During their study stay in Morocco, foreign students are required to contribute financially to an Insurance Policy, which offers them the following benefits:

 

  • Reimbursement of medical expenses;
  • Medical care;
  • Emergency medical evacuation to the country of origin, in the event of serious illness preventing the student from continuing his or her studies in Morocco;
  • Repatriation of the body in the event of death on Moroccan territory.

Like Moroccan students, foreign students also benefit from medical care provided by public hospitals and health centers throughout Morocco.

 

AMCI’s “Cité Universitaire Internationale: has a medical-social service, which also offers free medical services to foreign students.
